This is an activity taken from the wonderful book: Multiple Intelligences in EFL written by Herbert Puchta and Mario Rinvolucri.
MI focus: linguistic, interpersonal and intrapersonal
Level: all levels
Time: two short lessons
Lesson 1:
**Ask students to make a list of dreams they have. Get them to underline the one they feel most strongly about.
**The students take a piece of paper and write or draw this dream in the centre of the page and circle it. Then get them to jot down in the form of a mind map all associations that come to mind.
**Ask your students to put their mind maps aside. Tell them about a book, a film you liked as a child. Give them a short summary, and elaborate on why that book was important to you.
**Ask your students to think of a book, film, story, etc. that they liked when they were children. Students close their eyes and visualize a part of it.
**Ask them to go back to their mind maps and add ideas from the book, etc.
**Get them to write or draw an imaginative story based on their mind map.
**When students have finished, give them an envelope each. ask them to put their story in their envelope. Tell the class that you are going to give them back in a week´s time. Students write their names on the envelopes.
Lesson 2:
This activity may serve as a warming up.
**Give each student their envelope. Ask them read their story silently and then to share, in small groups or in pairs, their thoughts about their stories and experience.
Have it a try!!! Then you can comment on your OWN experience.
